Privacy notice · updated 3 September 2026
The four-question support finder does not ask for a name, South African ID number, phone number, document, bank account or login.
Plain-English summary
Your individual scan answers stay in the browser tab. Optional features process only the information needed to provide that feature. The site does not sell personal information or ask for government credentials.
Subsidies.co.za decides what this website stores and why. It is independently operated and does not publish a personal or legal-entity name. This is an acknowledged governance limitation; this notice describes current processing and is not a claim of legal certification.
Individual answers remain in the active browser tab. The site counts shortlist completions, detailed-check completions, checklist saves, official-route link clicks and print requests as daily totals. Each request contains only the event name. It does not contain income, household, municipality, benefit answers, matched programmes or an identity, and events are not linked into a personal journey. A click or print request is not proof that someone applied or received support.
Saved programmes, progress stages and checklist ticks use browser storage. A pseudonymous account-owner marker keeps a shared browser’s list from being copied into the wrong account. Someone using the same browser may see the device copy. Remove items from My plan or clear the browser’s site data to delete it.
A passwordless account stores your email address, saved programme IDs, progress stages, checklist ticks, a list revision and update time. Revisions stop an older device from silently replacing newer progress. It does not receive scan answers, identity numbers, documents, bank details or government credentials. The account and cloud copy can be deleted from the account page.
If used, chat text is sent through OpenRouter to the selected support model. The site requests zero-retention providers, blocks data-collecting routes and does not save the chat text. Obvious ID-number, phone, email and long-number patterns are removed first, but private details must still not be entered. To limit automated abuse, the hosting network address is converted into a secret-keyed daily token; the site does not store the raw address in the usage counter. Usage counters are deleted by automated maintenance after the stated period.
The report form stores the selected category, message, supplied page or official-source links and an optional reply email. It does not deliberately store an IP address or device fingerprint with the report. Never put application references, private documents or account information in the form.
Optional account, AI and contact features are activated by the user. Essential processing is limited to providing, protecting and maintaining the requested service.
These providers may process technical request data, including an IP address or browser details, to deliver and protect their services. Processing may occur outside South Africa under the provider’s terms and safeguards.
subsidies_help_session keeps the two-question allowance consistent on this browser for up to 730 days. It is HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Lax, and contains a random signed value—not a name, email or government identifier.Use the service without an account, do not open the AI helper, remove a device plan, delete an account, or submit a privacy request. A request can ask what contact-report or account information is held, ask for correction or deletion, or object to its continued use. Enough information may be needed to verify that the requester controls the relevant email account.

Subsidies.co.za cannot access or change an official application. If private information is entered accidentally, use the contact form to request deletion and identify the report reference—not the private information itself.
