You may still be able to get help

We cannot verify the current official information for this check. This does not mean you cannot get help. Ask the government office about your situation; we will not use unverified limits to decide whether you qualify.

Important to know

One detail still needs an official answer

The official information is not fully clear.

Apply as soon as possible. This website does not reject an adoption claim using either conflicting period; UIF must confirm the deadline printed for the current claim. The responsible government office must confirm the final answer.

Who may qualify

Check these things first

This is a simple first check. SASSA, UIF or your municipality will check your application and make the final decision.

Ask the government office to confirm the current requirements. We are not using the disputed limits or unverified information to decide whether you qualify.

Avoid preventable delays

Get the application ready.

  1. Ask the employer for a completed UI-19 and salary schedule and check the employment dates, pay and termination reason before submission.
  2. Prepare the identity document, UI-2.8 banking form and the correct benefit application form.
  3. For unemployment, complete work-seeker information and keep proof where the official route requests it.
  4. Add the event-specific evidence: medical certificate, birth record, adoption order or death and relationship documents where applicable.
Explain facts, not a copied story.

Who was the last employer, and what were the exact first and last working dates? Why did work stop or income reduce? Use the real event and the same wording supported by the employer record.
